Justification:

The one-point perspective is a mathematical (geometric) technique that permits to represent the real objects (which are in 3D) in a flat sheet of paper (or canvas or any flat surface use to draw), which is a 2-D figure.

With this technique, the objects appear smaller as they are further away which is what gives the illusion of 3D (perspective).

To get the effect of 3D, the lines on the drawing converge towards a point on the horizon line.
