x + y = 3 -------------------------------------------------(2)

Now adding equation (1) to equation (2), we have:

Then

x = 6 / 3 = 2

Substituting x = 2 into equation (2), we have

Hence

y = 3 - 2 = 1.

Therefore, the point of intersection is (2, 1).
