1236 sq. m

explanation:

Side of square field = 100m

Area of the square field = side * side

= 100 * 100

= 10,000 sq. m

A path of 3m wide is built outside and along the boundary.

Side of path = 100(from the side of field) + 3(from the upper side) + 3(from below)

= 100 + 6

= 106 metres.

Area of the along with whole square path with side 106m = side * side

= 106 * 106

= 11,236sq.m

Now, Area of whole square = Areas of square field + area of path

therefore, Area of the path only = 11,236 - 10,000

= 1,236sq.m
