Find the result when 40 is increased by 85%. Write an equation to this and solve. Please help. Im crying I can't do this its too hard!

To solve this problem we have to find what 85% of 40 is, and then add that value to 40.

40 * 0.85 = 34

34 + 40 = 74

74 is the result when 40 is increased by 85%.
