e^-3x=0
1-3x=0
2. Set first factor equal to 0 and solve
e^-3x=0
Rewrite as set of linear factors
e^-3*x=0
Take the natural logarithm of both sides
In(e^-3*x)=In(0)
Equation cannot be sloved because In(0)= undefined
3. Set next factor equal to 0 and solve
1-3x=0
Subtract 1 from both sides
1-3x-1=0-1
-3x=-1
4.Divide each term by -3 and simplify
-3x/-3= -1/-3
x=-1/-3
4. Divide x by 1
