If there are 500 mg of medicine in 5 ml of liquid, we need to set up a proportion to find out how much liquid medication has 125 mg of medicine in it. Set up the proportion as follows:

[tex] \frac{500mg}{5ml}=\frac{125mg}{x} [/tex].

Cross multiply to get 500x = 625. Divide by 500 to get that you need 1.25 ml of liquid if your dose is 125 mg of medicine.
